Dedicated SSL - Additional Actinic checkout Security.

Once your PSP has been setup and installed into Actinic you can enhance the security for your customers by installing your own dedicated SSL certificate. This can be applied to the Actinic part of the checkout process where the name, address, e-mail, phone number, etc. are entered. The customer would then see the padlock and the 'https://' in the address bar at the top of their browser. Having this additional safety can help decrease the number of dropped orders.

You can purchase a certificate through our site, we would recommend using a url such as secure.mysite.co.uk to help show that there is added security on your site. If you use a dedicated SSL certificate you will need to upgrade your hosting to allow for this to work.

Actinic Shared SSL

If you have your own secure system and are PCI DSS complient you can also use Actinic shared SSL to take payments, with which you can simply download your encrypted orders and enter them into your payment system directly.

Although this, being shared, doesn't have the look of a fully integrated system, it is certainly a lot cheaper and still shows the padlock in your customers browser.
